THE ORIGINAL HERMAN:
Peter Noone, the original Herman from Herman's Hermits, will travel to the UK this Spring for a Sixties tour covering 60 cities in approximately 60 days. Peter Noone, of Herman fame, is from Manchester, England. Today, Herman lives in the United States and performs in the United States and Canada, with occasional trips outside the U.S.A. for TV shows or concerts. Performing under the name of Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, he's a total entertainer, who includes humor, antics, and improvisation in his shows. Due to legal conflicts with Barry Whitwam, who has his own version of Herman's Hermits, who play the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and other European locations, the Sixties tour will see him billed as Peter Noone, leaving it to fans to recognize Herman, of Herman's Hermits, on their own.
WHEN I AM 64:
When I Am 64 may be a Beatles song, but when Peter Noone turned 64 on November 5, 2011, he was still performing like the 17 year old teen he claims to be, while on stage. Herman, with his current band of American Hermits, play an estimated 150 concerts a year, which does not include private concerts. Peter Noone is popular with fans and visitors to Busch Gardens in Tampa, where he will be appearing in February. The UK tour covers March and April. He returns to the U.S.A. to make his annual popular appearance at Epcot in May. Busch is a 4 day 3 shows a day event, while Epcot is a 3 day 3 shows a day event. He likes his work!
FANS:
(Disclaimer: At this point, I should mention, I am a happy Lifetime Member of the Peter Noone fan club, first becoming a member in September 2006. Perks associated with being a fan club member may come my way, so yes, I am a little biased as a fan.)
Peter Noone's fans are among the finest and most loyal fans an entertainer could have or hope to have. Before Peter Noone chose to take over and devote time to publishing his newsletter, Heartbeat, fans wrote, edited, and published the newsletter under the auspice of Peter Noone. Twice the fan club raised large sums of money to assist former Dave Clark Five member and lead singer, Mike Smith, before he passed away. A special group of fan club members, known as the Calendar Girls, annually create a Peter Noone calendar to raise money, for up to two California charities, which fans--we're called Noonatics--purchase. The Calendar Girls make up part of the phone bank volunteers, most years, who take contributor calls, during the annual charity telethon that collects money for one of the same charities, they sell the calendar for. Fan club members devote their time and energy to help sell t-shirts, CDs, and other products at Peter Noone concerts, also. This devotion tells you Peter Noone loves his music, audience, his fans, and life. This is why he can honestly say, I'm Into Something Good.
